"The Tango is not a dance but an obsession. For the
tanguero, it is as much a part of life as eating and
sleeping. Erotic and passionate, haunting and melancholy,
it involves not only the body but also the soul..."

Linda is originally from Mexico and is now living permanently in San Diego. She has been dancing and studying Tango since 1998. Most of her training has been in San Diego with Ive Simard, master teacher from El Mundo Del Tango. She started learning the leader’s part in 2002 and to this date continues her weekly classes to improve her technique and knowledge which she generously shares with her students. She can teach both men and women in both the Salon style and the more intimate Milonguero style.

She has traveled extensively to complement her training, taking private lessons with numerous Argentine Tango Masters such as: Guillermo Merlo and Fernanda Ghi, Daniela Arcuri and Armando Orzuza, Hugo Patyn and Miriam Larici, José Garafolo, Sergio Cortazzo, Facundo and Kelly Posadas, “El Pulpo” and Luisa, Orlando Paiva, Daniel Lapadula, Sandor, Graciela Gonzalez, Stella Barba, Nélida Boyer, and most recently with Susana Miller Argentina’s foremost teacher in the “Milonguero” style.

Ms. Garwood spent three weeks in Buenos Aires perfecting her dancing technique and investigating different teaching methodologies. The Argentine influence can be felt and seen in her approach to teaching Tango. Posture, connection and musicality are emphasized extensively through all her classes. Technique is always the focus point of her teaching, she strongly believes in a solid foundation and complete understanding of the basics of the dance.
